Film Example

When citing a movie, in general it is not necessary to list the format such as a DVD, unless it is a specific version. If it is a foreign film, italicize the foreign name but follow with an non-italicized English translation of the title in brackets.

Basic Format Movie/DVD Citation:

Director Last Name, Initials. (Year). Title of Movie [Film]. Production Company.

Reference List Citation: 

Cretton, D.D. (Director). (2019). Just Mercy [Film]. Warner Bros. Pictures; Endeavor Content; One
     Community; Participant; MACRO; Netter Productions; Outlier Society.

Reference List Citation:

Madu, E. (2008, April 17). Earnest Madu: World-class health care [Video file]. Retrieved
          from: https://www.ted.com/talks/ernest_madu_on_world_class_health_care

YouTube Video Example

Basic Format YouTube Video Citation:

This format should be used for other video sites such as Vimeo. Note that it should begin with the name of the creator of the video in standard last name, first initial format, and then the title of the channel in brackets, only if different from the creator.
