Chat GPT vs. Google Bard: Generative AI ComparisonChatGPT and Google Bard are both generative AI platforms. But which generative AI tool offers the greatest potential for competitive advantage? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Embracing AI: Using Cat-GPT to Encourage Classroom DiscussionWhile some resist the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom, fearing plagiarism and misinformation, others view it as a powerful tool for learning that can help students and instructors alike. Because of students’ enthusiasm for such tools, it is important for instructors to address their use. As such, the purpose of this “quick fix” is to explore one possibility for embracing responsible use of AI in the classroom. Namely, I discuss the utility of introducing students to Cat-GPT, a generative language tool similar to Chat-GPT that generates lighthearted, but still thoughtful, responses to queries, alongside silly cat animations. I discuss utility of the tool for guiding students in exercises meant to help them to find ways to expand upon their knowledge. I find that the contrast of the whimsical language with the power of the tool make it especially fun for class activities and discussion. Students appreciate the silliness, and it captures their attention enough to allow for serious classroom discussions about the benefits and drawbacks of AI tools.
No, AI Won't Destroy Education. But We Should Be Skeptical. The article offers information on the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on education. Topics include the public's perception of AI, its widespread use across various industries, debates on AI's role in K-12 education, and the emergence of ChatGPT as an AI tool that has sparked discussions on the transformation of teaching and learning.
Generative AI (gAI) in medical education: Chat-GPT and co."The use of chatbots in medical education is an emerging trend that is welcomed by many educators and medical professionals. In particular, the use of ChatGPT, a large language model of OpenAI, offers a variety of benefits for students and educators alike [...]" [ 1]. So far so amazing, the passage already points to the whole dilemma: will teaching at universities ever be the same after ChatGPT as it never was anyways?
Generating Employable, Intelligent Graduates in a World With Generative AI: Thoughts for Educators.Universities are already adopting AI to automate answers to commonly asked questions and even using AI tools to review students resumes prior to them talking to career consultants. Short for "Generative Pre-trained Transformer", Chat GPT is an of example of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology that allows users to converse with machines in a natural way. Headlines have touted that AI technologies will be the death of the traditional college essay or how faculty need to AI-proof their assignments, and others say that AI could be great for college essays ([3]; [4]; [6]). The Fourth Education Revolution by Anthony Seldon; Oladimeji Abidoye; Timothy MetcalfSir Anthony Seldon, the prominent political biographer and leading educationalist, addresses one of the high-stakes issues that will influence our future: the role of artificial intelligence and its impact on education. The use of AI promises an altogether new way of educating, offering learners from all backgrounds widespread access to personalised tuition and digital educational materials from across the world. Educational institutions across the world have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and many have migrated, at least temporarily, to online platforms. The debate about how to deliver knowledge has never been more relevant. Many countries have an excellent education system with their schools and universities - excellent, but tailored to the twentieth century. The mass teaching methods of the third revolution era have failed to conquer enduring problems of inequity and lack of individualised learning. AI is disrupting the way we live, work and interact with the environment, and we cannot stop it changing our schools and universities. But we have time - albeit not for long - to shape this revolution. It will not be a panacea, and if we are not quick, it will start to replace what makes us human - being creative, having beliefs, and loving others. This book, presented in considerably updated and extended second edition, is a call to educators everywhere to open their eyes to what is coming. If we do so, then the future will be shaped by us for the common interests of humanity - but if we don't, then it will be imposed, and we will all lose. 'This book has the potential to impel change in our education system which is so badly in need of reform. The new "reconsidered" version in the wake of the COVID pandemic serves to emphasize even more strongly the role AI can play in education and how its use is being accelerated.'Lord Clement-Jones CBE

The Impact of Innovative ICT Education and AI on the Pedagogical Paradigm by Boris AberšekTo be a good teacher, one must acquire a large set of different kinds of interdisciplinary knowledge. Education for teachers and trainers consists, in part, of learning the language of education and the appropriate associated skills. A deeper understanding of judgments and choices also requires a richer vocabulary than is available in everyday language. On a systemic level, the education system needs to consider the individual as the basic building block of society, and further take into consideration the individual's consciousness related to their emotional intelligence. Because a person's consciousness is something entirely singular and inherent to the individual, some kind of generalization will have to be constructed, which will contribute enough in terms of novelty and progress, to make it innovative enough for the purposes of teaching and learning. This volume will serve to provoke cognitive dissonance and intellectual unease, as it explores cognitive theories and inspires researchers and teachers to update and invigorate some of the theories that have been embedded in their minds since their own school years. In order for this to happen, the book provides readers with many valuable insights and introduces new experiences resulting from alternative teaching practices.
