Association for French Language Studies

AFLS was founded in 1981 to encourage and promote language teaching activies and research in French Language and Linguistics as areas worthy of consideration in their own right. The Association acts as a forum for scholarly discussion and for the exchange of information among those interested and engaged in teaching French in Higher Education.

The Alliance Françaiseis is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting French language and culture, as well as friendship, between Americans and French-speaking people.

Word Reference is consistently ranked in the top 500 most-visited websites in the world and a top 100 website in Spain, France, Italy and all of Latin America. In addition to the Oxford dictionaries, WordReference has two of its own dictionaries; the French dictionary alone has over 250,000 translations.

Supporting the translation dictionaries, we also have the Internet's premier language forums.  If you have a question about language usage, first search the hundreds of thousands of previous questions.  If you still are not sure, then you can ask the question yourself.  Native speakers from around the world will be happy to assist you.
