An Advisory Board of local community funeral professionals works closely with Delgado's Funeral Service Program. As part of their academic preparation, Delgado students are given instruction in funeral homes under the supervision of experienced professionals. Not only does this enhance their training, it offers them career job placement opportunities.

Louisiana State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors

The Louisiana State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors provides information regarding licensing and certification for funeral directors, embalmers, and other occupations related to funeral services.

The board was formed in 1914 under legal citation R.S. 37:832 for the purpose of regulating embalmers, funeral homes, and funeral directors, and handling consumer complaints. It also prescribes requirements for funeral homes and individuals engaged in the care and disposition of the deceased.

Through education, information and advocacy, NFDA is dedicated to supporting members in their mission to provide families with meaningful end-of-life services at the highest levels of excellence and integrity.
