We give classes for faculty and staff, too!
Because it can be difficult to keep up with all the changes in our many databases, the Delgado Libraries offer instruction for faculty/staff. Sessions can be scheduled for teams or on an individual basis.
To request a faculty/staff instruction, please contact Shanna Clevenger at 504-762-3153.
The purpose of library instruction is to facilitate students’ engagement in creative and critical thinking about research and information resources.
Information Literacy Instruction is available for classes at the request of the instructor. Tours/overviews of library resources are available as part of orientation sessions and guided/structured instruction, covering the specific needs of your classes, require advance scheduling.
Arrangements can be made by calling or emailing the Reference Dept. for your campus/site:
Information Literacy Instruction must be scheduled one - two days in advance of the class date. Instructors must remain with their class throughout the instruction.
Please contact the Reference Dept. if you need to cancel/reschedule a class.
Classes arriving 15 minutes after the scheduled time will automatically be rescheduled.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
It's the right thing to do for your students!
The libraries have developed a series of online tools to help you with your courses.
You can have a Librarian embedded in your Canvas course to help your students!
The Embedded Librarian will send out a message to your students at the beginning of the semester to let them know he/she is there to provide research help, provide links to relevant library resources and monitor the class for research questions during the whole semester. The Embedded librarian can also can add existing or customized content from any LibGuide.
To get your very own Embedded Librarian, contact Emily Rush at 504-671-5314.
